Meet Our Providers
Barbara Parey, MD has practiced Family Medicine since 1981 after completing medical school at the University of Rochester and residency at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore. She served in the US Public Health Service in rural western New York after residency and taught at The Family Medicine Residency of the State University of N.Y. at Buffalo. For 12 years she was part of a large family medicine group here in Cecil County, Chesapeake Family Practice. She then took another teaching position at a family medicine residency in Kingston, NY. In 2002, she joined Dr. Monteleone in private practice in Elkton. She enjoys practicing the full range of Family Medicine from newborns through geriatrics. She and her two daughters consider Elkton their home and enjoy all the advantages they have living here on Maryland's eastern shore.
Robert Monteleone, MD graduated from the Univ. of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1994. He completed residency at the University of Connecticut. Afterwards he completed a Rural Family Practice and Maternity Care fellowship at the University of Texas – Galveston, which included additional training in office based procedures. He moved to Elkton in 1998 and has been in practice here since. He also holds a part time teaching position as an Assistant Director of Family Medicine at St. Francis Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Monteleone's main interests include chronic disease management, pediatric care and office based procedures.
Ela Mroz, MD graduated from Silesian Medical University in Poland. She completed her internship in Family Medicine at Regional Medical Institute and she joined a private practice in southern Poland. After moving to the United States, Dr. Mroz completed Family Medicine residency at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated in June 2010 and shortly after joined Family Healthcare of Elkton. Dr. Mroz is interested in comprehensive family care and preventative medicine. She enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and two children.
R. Scott Collins, PA-C, RN, BSN, NREMT-P is a lifetime Cecil County resident who attended Bohemia Manor High School, Cecil College, Nursing School of Wilmington, Wilmington College, and Essex Community College Physician Assistant Program where he graduated in 1998. He has been a member of the Chesapeake City Volunteer Fire Company for over 30 years as a firefighter and paramedic and worked as a surgical and critical care nurse at Christiana Hospital and at Union Hospital prior to becoming a Physician Assistant. He enjoys all youth sports, volunteering extensively to provide medical coverage for local youth and high school sports.
